Calm, cool, and blue. The surprisingly warm waters of the sea rippled gently against your body while you floated there, taking in slow and deep breaths of the sweet, salty air.

The entire ship was calm, peaceful, and nothing was disturbed. For the first time, every single one of the crew was relaxed, not screaming, not shouting, not running around like morons. It was almost like sleep. The only thing that drifted through the air was small chit chat from a few people, and the sweet sound of Brook writing music for his guitar, strumming light chords against the tightly strung strings, bone fingers pressing against the fret board to create such smooth sounds to accent the quiet.

Luffy was sound asleep under the sun, along with Zoro and Usopp. Sanji cooked in the kitchen, keeping the satisfaction levels for everyone’s stomachs up with his splendid cooking. Chopper and Franky merely kept watch of the ship, or leaned back for some sun every once in a while, while Nami and Robin sun bathed on lawn chairs, drinking fruity tropical drinks as they discussed casual matters, nothing of the next island or a fight. All was calm. All was chill, peaceful. And you, lay on your back on the surface of the water in the small pool that popped out the side of the Sunny to encase a safe area of water for swimming. Light sparkling ripples washed against your body, floating there, calmly, under the scorching sun, in the sea breeze, with the sweet sounds of a guitar.

With one simple movement, you dove backwards into the water from your float, the cool blue engulfing your body and soothing the slight burn of the sun. You swam down, far down for a few meters. Turning around, you let yourself face the surface of the water from your underwater position, and became lifeless, letting yourself become limp and float slowly, and smoothly back towards the surface. With open eyes, you gazed at the rippling waters from below, a wondrous and unique sight from the other side as rays from the sun slipped through the water, refracting into the deep blue and past your body, creating a heavenly look from any angle a person could look from.

From your view, through your mesmerized gaze, a disturbance was made in the surface of the water, sending a ripple that glittered and danced with the sunlight in an outward spread of white lines.  A foot slipped through the surface, that’s what it was, followed by its twin and a torso. Another object caught your eye as it came into contact with the water. A silver circle placed just inches from the body. Curiosity getting the better of you, you brought life back into your limbs and gracefully pushed the water aside with your hands, swimming back up to the surface of the water like an aquatic angel and breaking it with your presence surfacing, causing new small waves to ripple across the water, only being stopped by the edge of the yellow ring that kept a safe zone for swimming at the side of the Sunny.

“I had a feeling you would be down here.” A smooth voice said, reaching your ears of which you just popped from the pressure difference.

Flicking the water from your eyes, you turned in the direction of the voice, seeing a blonde figure that had seemingly just changed into their swim wear, a silver tray floating on the surface in front of them, holding two fruity drinks decorated oh so carefully with a sweet pink colour to it and an accented umbrella in each.

“Hey Sanji! Didn’t think you would come down here at all today.” You replied, back peddling to the edge of the barrier, leaning on it to take the strain of manually treading water to stay afloat off you.

“I had to. You were the only one who hasn’t had a sip of my newest drink _______-chan~!” He smiled, lifting one of the glasses off the silver tray and pushing it in your direction.

The tray floated over to you, carrying the other pink tinted drink. You plucked it from the tray as it reached you and gave a small smile of appreciation in Sanji’s direction as you placed the tray on the edge of the barrier. “Thanks!” You said, taking a small sip from the glass.

The taste was amazing. A perfect blend of fruits, creating a well-blended balance of sweet and sour that was ever so slightly bitter, and a tang of pink lemon hinted in the aftertaste, leaving you filled with a mouth-watering blend of fruits that no one other than Sanji himself could have put together. There were no words for this creation, only an expression of pleasure and ecstasy to be displayed.

Judging from your expression, you like it I’m guessing?” Sanji chuckled.

“Like it? I love it! This is one of the most amazing drinks you’ve ever created!” You complimented, taking another sip from your glass.

“Well I’m glad you like it!” He laughed, sipping his own. “So how come you’re down here and no one else is ________-chan?” He asked.

“Hmm. I dunno. Everyone else is in the sun. I just felt like taking on the water since the atmosphere is so calming. No one is yelling, or screaming, or being stupid. Every single one of them is just calm, like another personality has taken them over or something. Proof? You’re talking to me without your mellorine radar going off~!” You said, intending to tease a bit at the end of your sentence.

“Ouch!” Sanji said coolly with a smile. “That hurts, you know?” He joked.

“Bullshit.” You laughed, letting this once in a lifetime talk sink in with the atmosphere. As you did, another answer came to his question, and for once, this one was one you’d want to talk about now, unlike times before. “Also, another reason I came down here was to think. Think about my dream, and what I’m going to do to achieve it. The water helps I guess.”

“Right, your dream! It’s quite a good one you’ve got there. Not to mention a tough one as well.” Sanji replied.

“Tch, and yours isn’t? Mr. All Blue~!”

“True, true!” He agreed.

Soon, this silly little small talk, and blossomed into a rather vivid debate of dreams, you and Sanji going back and forth about each-others dreams and making jokes as you sipped your drinks. One moment it was a debate on your dream, and the next, it was a deep conversation about All Blue. This conversation went on for quite some time, and in that time, both you and Sanji had finished your drinks.

“Well, your dream seems far more possible than mine.” Sanji pointed out, finishing his sentence.

“Anything is possible Sanji! You’ll find All Blue one day, I can guarantee it.” You said confidently with a smile.

“Yep. I’m sure it will someday. All Blue, a place where all the fish from every corner of the sea meet. The sea can truly be a beautiful place.” Sanji mused.

Pondering on Sanji’s muse, a smile spread across your face at what came to mind. “Yes, it can be. Which is what I was doing before you came down here; viewing the beauty of the sea.”

“How so?” Sanji questioned curiously.

“Dive under with me and I’ll show you.” You explained with a wink, putting your glass on the edge of the barrier.

Following your actions, Sanji put his glass aside and dived below the surface of the water with you, swimming down to find out what you meant. Five meters, ten meters, fifteen meters you swam, halting at that depth and turning around to view the surface of the water from the underside once again. Being at this depth, a great amount of area could be seen all at once, allowing for a wider amount of beauty to be absorbed by your eyes. Sanji watched you underwater with a curious expression, wondering what you were looking at. First, you pointed with a finger at the surface, and then gestured with both open palms to the entire sea above you.

Now, Sanji got it. The ocean, when in it, was much more beautiful when you became one with it. The ripples of the water, the rays of sun, all captured the both of your eyes, darting from one sight to the next constantly, the occasional stare being set as well. The fish that swam by glistened in the sunlight with their shiny scales; reflecting colours of the rainbow through the water in a seemingly majestic manner. The bending light from above fell upon you and Sanji, staring at the natural beauty that was being offered to you, slipping past your bodies and falling on it with its golden glare.

Sanji’s eyes absorbed the scenery that you once viewed only moments before he came. He understood what you meant when you said you were viewing the beauty of the sea. He wondered what it would be like in All Blue, what kinds of things he’d see, what kind of beauties he might find. He couldn’t wait until the day he found it, to see some of the most beautiful things in existence in his eyes. But, the wandering eyes of Sanji focused on one sun beam refracting from nearly directly above him. He followed it with his gaze, and he stopped when he reached the being it fell upon.

That one beam fell on you, like a heavenly light of some sort. More beams of the sun were surrounding you, like a compliment to your floating form. You were fixated on a school of rainbow fish, a small smile on your face as you watched them. But his gaze was fixated on you. He turned, to stare once more, not a single drop of guilt lying in him with his actions.

In this situation, you looked like a goddess in his eyes. He couldn’t take his gaze from you. Where the light fell into place cast an angelic like image in his mind; seeing a true beauty of the sea. The thoughts of what All Blue would be like were erased from his mind completely. You were the only thing on his mind now.

The school of fish passing by, you turned around to see Sanji staring at you with an expression of amazement. You tilted your head curiously as the two of you slowly drifted upwards, wondering why he was staring so intently. He smiled at you, and the constant gaze made you blush slightly, even underwater.

At this point, Sanji only did what he wanted to do, and that was to find and capture his dream. With one stroke, he pushed himself through the water towards you, stopping mere inches from you. Carefully, he brought one of his hands to your face and brushed the flowing hair out of your face, and then, without words, or and further signal, he put a hand on your waist and one under your chin, pulling you close, and gently kissing you.

Your eyes widened, and a warm blush spread across your face at this sudden action. There was no explanation, as the both of you were underwater, so you were slightly confused at this whole this. What triggered Sanji to make such a bold move? Though you were shocked, with your eyes widened, you quickly took in your surroundings. The way the light fell upon you two was your first noted thing, and it was actually almost magical in your eyes. Taking it in once more, you stopped and though ‘screw it’ before closing your eyes and deciding to kiss back.

Slowly, you and Sanji drifted upwards towards the surface in your underwater kiss, now only about a meter from the surface. Though it was sweet while it lasted, you were close to the top, and you had to admit, now was the time you would appreciate some air. Breaking the surface of the water, the two of you pulled apart and took in deep breaths of air, heaving to regulate your oxygen intake, still in each-others grasp.

“S-Sanji, what in the world, was that all about?” You asked, being the first to speak, still being curious as to why he did what he did.

“Sorry, I couldn’t help myself. I thought I found my All Blue.” He answered.

“W-what?” You stammered, slightly confused.

“All Blue is supposed to be a place of true beauty. I took a glance at you when you were showing me the beauty of the waters, and I just realized, that you were far more beautiful than what you were showing me, and my dream.” He said rather seriously, not even flinching, without a single heart.

“Sanji… Are you-?”

“I’m saying you’re far more beautiful than the entire sea, and the most wondrous dream of mine. The existence of All Blue is about one in a million, but I think instead, you are about as good as that one, stuck among the million. You are my All Blue, filled with my hopeless dreams, but I think you might make them real.” He said with his most serious and meaningful tone and expression.

He wasn’t kidding around. Maybe the water altered his vision, or he swallowed the wrong patch of sea, but this felt different. He wasn’t flirting, he wasn’t rambling about his dream, he was conversing to you with his heart, and not his needy eyes. Maybe the ocean, with All Blue on his mind, made him see through his many so called dreams, to put them together, and realize that what he desired was right in front of him. The sea is a beautiful place, and can cleanse the soul of anyone if it tries, to clear their vision, to point them towards their dream.

“…Your All Blue.” You murmured.

“Yes, is you. Or is my sudden realization not believable? Because you’re the one I want to pursue the rest of my dreams with.” He insisted.

“I didn’t think you could be such a person.” You admitted. “But, I can tell, this isn’t a lie. I just… can. It’s believable, and I think I wish it to be too.”

Once more, acting off pure instinct, emotion, feeling, not a single brain cell used, you leaned into Sanji and kissed him sweetly on the lips. Once, twice, and multiple times, as you grasped around his shoulders, being immersed in one feeling only.

“Be my All Blue, and don’t disappear like a hopeless dream.”

“I wouldn’t think of it. You’re rarely like this. I think I’d like to keep it this way between the two of us, like a secret dream come true.” You whispered.

“Please.” He nodded, taking you underwater once more to explore the depths and beauty of the sea in each-others presence together.

For one, for all, for the blue.
